Most bats echolocate between 20 kHz and 120 kHz — well above the ~20 kHz ceiling that ordinary microphones and audio hardware can capture. Echo listens to the very top of the audible band, so it reliably catches the lower-frequency social calls of some species and the audible portion of a call, plus any high clicks, hisses and jingles. For true ultrasonic detection you'd need a dedicated bat detector that pitches the sound down into hearing range. Everything here runs locally — no audio ever leaves your device.
